TCU wrestling tops Hastings, East Ridge, Hudson in quad
It was win after win after win for the Titans wrestling team Jan. 2. Tri-City United faced off against Hastings, East Ridge and Hudson in a New Richland quad and won all three meets.
Though the Titans came out on top, the path to victory wasn’t easy. The team was nearly overcome by Hastings in the Titans’ first match of the tournament, but TCU managed a 29-28 victory. TCU triumphed again over East Ridge with a resounding 64-15 victory.

TCU wrestling captains expect challenges, hope for success in upcoming season
The Tri-City United wrestling captains — seniors Brandon Balma, Jose Reyes and Adam Frederickson and junior Riley O’Malley — are feeling the weight of their leadership roles for the upcoming wrestling season.

Titans take third overall at home invite over the weekend
Tri-City United hosted its annual wrestling invite Saturday, and the Titans finished third place with most wrestlers seeing the podium.
The Titans racked up 202 points with 14 wrestlers reaching fifth place or better. They were only beat out by New Prague with 238 points and Plainview-Elgin-Millville with 215. Titans come out of holiday tournament with a four podium spots
The Tri-City United wrestling team came out of its two-day holiday tournament with four wrestlers reaching the podium.
On Dec. 21-22 the Titans participated in the Redwood River Riot tournament and Caleb Whipps, Nick Johnson, Sam Miller and Jose Reyes came home with some hardware.

Titans go 3-0 at Glencoe's wrestling tournament

The Tri-City United wrestling team saw great results on Friday in Glencoe, finishing 3-0.
To start the night off, the Titans saw a very tough match against Becker High School as they only defeated the Bulldogs by one point 31-30.
The Titans started the match off well, winning the first four classes to gain a 16-point lead over Becker. But the Bulldogs started closing in during the middle weights and with Logan Turek’s (152 pounds) 7-1 decision over Adam Fredrickson, the Bulldogs took the lead.

On Sunday night seven Titan wrestlers were honored with All-Conference awards. Zach Mikel (160 pounds) and Tyler Schroer (182) achieved All-Conference Honorable Mention and Brandon Balma (138), Nick Johnson (113), Justin Kopet (145), Jose Reyes (170) and Caleb Whipps (106) all received All-Conference medals.

Tri-City United wrestlers beat another top team in the Section 2AA tournament.
